The automated pumping sytem will reduce double-doctoring
and end seal failure by reducing internal cavity pressure. The internal
cavity pressure is reduced using a diaphram pump to evacuate the cavity.
The station consists of two diaphram pumps built in one enclosure, one
pump sends ink to the the cavity, and the other discharges ink . Witha
turn of a switch, the automated pumping system allows the operator to
clean up the anilox roller and cavity from the control panel located on
the press. All inlet and outlet fittings are located on the exterior of
the cabinet. Banjo quick release fittings allow for rapid changing and
cleaning of the feed and return lines.
A simple control panel is located on the face of the enclosure to allow
setting of the feed and retun rate of the ink or coating material. The
flow is adjusted by a regulator and repeat settings can be achieved by
recording the pressure gage settings. The pump is available in manual
or automatic models and can be double stacked for multiple color management.
